Modern dating dilemmas take a *Groundhog Day*-esque twist in the teaser for *The Death Thing*, the newest flick from writer and director Elric Kane, arriving soon on Shudder.

In the preview, Alex (portrayed by Blu Hunt) is shown repetitively swiping through a dating app before connecting with a man (Ben Smith-Petersen) with whom she immediately feels chemistry. Yet, the situation shifts into the bizarre and disconcerting when she runs into him again, only to find out he has no recollection of their first encounter.

Co-starring Katherine Hughes and John Karna, the movie hints at a chilling and psychological dive into the intricacies and unsettling aspects of contemporary dating app culture.

*The Death Thing* will be available for streaming on Shudder starting February 14.
