Elon Musk Gains Command Over Computer System, Restricts Entry for High-Ranking Government Officials

A **breathtaking report from *Reuters*** has disclosed that Elon Musk has prohibited U.S. government officials from accessing vital data systems that hold personal information on millions of federal employees.

Per the report, which references two unnamed federal agents, senior personnel at the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) unexpectedly lost their access to essential departmental databases. This occurrence is said to be a result of Musk’s oversight of the **Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)**, a role he was designated to by former President Donald Trump with the intention of “reducing government expenditure.”

Although DOGE has limited authority over OPM and a handful of other federal entities, a cohort identified as a “team of current and former” Musk associates has apparently **immersed itself extensively within the agency** since Trump’s inauguration on January 20. Initially established as a non-government advisory board, DOGE has evolved into a renamed tech entity functioning directly within the White House.

The report indicates that Musk’s team even arranged for sofa beds to be placed in the OPM Director’s office to enable round-the-clock operations. Their initiatives were directed at securing access to a vast database referred to as the **Enterprise Human Resources Integration (EHRI)**. This system contains extremely confidential information, including birth dates, Social Security numbers, home addresses, pay grades, performance reviews, and service records of federal employees. Consequently, tracking Musk and his associates’ activities within OPM has become increasingly difficult.

This event coincides with Musk and Trump’s initiative for all 2.2 million federal employees to accept **deferred resignations**, aiming to replace them with MAGA loyalists. On Friday, David A. Lebryk, the highest-ranking career official at the Treasury Department, allegedly tendered his resignation after declining to provide Musk’s operatives access to the government’s payment system, which processes $6 trillion annually.

Musk’s reasons for pursuing control over the Treasury Department and federal personnel databases are not entirely clear. Nevertheless, his actions imply a broader agenda to consolidate authority over federal systems, potentially enabling him to circumvent legal limitations and influence government activities. Under the pretext of cutting $2 billion in government spending, Musk could utilize this access to undermine social programs that he and Trump oppose, further tightening their hold on federal operations.

This unprecedented action raises serious concerns regarding the balance of power within the federal government and the potential exploitation of sensitive data for political or personal advantage.
