A snippet of the video, which aired on a television in the HUD cafeteria in Washington, D.C., was shared by Vox reporter Rachel Cohen, who received it from a source.

The occurrence coincided with the deadline Musk established for federal employees to [send an email](https://mashable.com/article/elon-musk-federal-employees-email-trolling) outlining five tasks they had completed the prior week or face the risk of job loss. In reaction, internet users have been disseminating fake emails supposedly sent to the government’s Office of Personnel Management as a means to satirize Musk.
