DreamWorks has officially revealed the lineup for *Shrek 5* through a brief teaser video that draws inspiration from trending TikTok memes. The clip showcases the well-known “yassified” Shrek filter, portraying the cherished ogre in a black catsuit as he dances in the sky.
In the 27-second teaser, Shrek scrolls through various clips on the Magic Mirror, creating an experience reminiscent of browsing a TikTok feed. His responses fluctuate between amusement and shock as he comes across odd representations of himself. As anticipated, *Shrek* alumni Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and Eddie Murphy will reprise their roles as Shrek, Princess Fiona, and Donkey, respectively. Given their legendary performances, it would be unimaginable to have a *Shrek* film without them.
Nonetheless, the most unexpected element of the announcement is the inclusion of Zendaya in the cast. The *Euphoria* actress is set to voice Shrek and Fiona’s daughter, likely named Felicia, who was initially presented as a baby in *Shrek the Third* (2007), accompanied by her brothers, Fergus and Farkle. It is yet to be confirmed if her siblings will feature in the film or who will provide their voices.
Information about the storyline of *Shrek 5* is still limited, marking this as the first major installment in the series since *Shrek Forever After* (2010). However, judging by the teaser, it appears that DreamWorks might be weaving in aspects of *Shrek*’s enduring appeal as an internet phenomenon.
Fans can anticipate the release of *Shrek 5* in theaters on December 23, 2026.
