Netflix’s *Bullet Train* Explosion Trailer Gives Off *Speed* Vibes on a Japanese Train

**Netflix Reveals Teaser for Fast-Paced Thriller *Bullet Train Explosion***

Recall the legendary 1994 action flick *Speed*, where Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock found themselves ensnared on a bus set to explode if its speed fell below 50 mph? Now, visualize that same edge-of-your-seat scenario—but aboard a bullet train hurtling towards Tokyo, with a committed train conductor at the forefront.

Netflix has just unveiled a teaser for *Bullet Train Explosion*, the newest endeavor from *Shin Godzilla* director Shinji Higuchi. This contemporary reimagining of the 1975 Japanese classic *The Bullet Train* chronicles the Tohoku Shinkansen Hayabusa No. 60, a train wired to detonate if its speed dips under 100 km/h (62 mph). The sole solution to avert catastrophe? Paying an eye-watering ransom of 100 billion yen (around $667 million).

At the heart of the turmoil is conductor Takaichi, portrayed by Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, who seems prepared to go to great lengths to safeguard his passengers. He won’t be tackling this emergency solo—accompanying him on this high-octane adventure is a star-studded cast that includes Kanata Hosoda, Non, Jun Kaname, Machiko Ono, Hana Toyoshima, and Takumi Saitoh.

*Bullet Train Explosion* races onto Netflix on April 23.
