As stock prices plummet following former President Trump’s tariff-induced trade conflict, Jon Stewart is shifting his comedic focus to the faltering economy.

In the Daily Show segment above, Stewart targets everything from Trump disappearing to join a golf tournament while the markets struggle, to the ex-president’s over-the-top remarks on TruthSocial, where he proclaimed, “ONLY THE WEAK WILL FAIL!”

“What are you doing?” Stewart queries in disbelief. “Your economic strategy has the same slogan as Season 3 of Squid Game. Is that supposed to reassure us?”

Stewart ultimately makes a connection between the current market decline and the crash that took place during the initial phase of the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020. “And this time,” he observes, “there’s no dispute about how it all began.”
