What Is Connections?
Connections is the newest sensation from The New York Times Games section, created with the assistance of associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu. Accessible on both desktop and mobile devices, the game offers players a 4×4 grid of 16 words. The goal? Organize the words into four groups of four, with each group encompassing a shared theme.
The twist: while multiple words may appear related, there is only one accurate combination for each set.
Each correctly identified set is eliminated from the board. However, be cautious—each wrong guess counts as a mistake, and players are limited to four errors before the game concludes.
To simplify matters, players can rearrange the board to help identify connections. Each group is also color-coded by difficulty: yellow is the simplest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Just like Wordle, you can share your results with friends on social media.
