Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Orders May Commence Soon, Based on Fresh Leak
Nintendo enthusiasts in the U.S. and Canada have remained in suspense ever since the company postponed pre-orders for the eagerly awaited Nintendo Switch 2 indefinitely. However, that wait might soon come to an end.
A new leak from Deal Labs’ renowned leaker Billbil-kun, shared on Bluesky and covered by Kotaku, indicates that U.S. retailers could begin pre-orders as soon as April 21 or April 30. In Canada, the provisional date seems to be April 23. Billbil-kun has a robust history of accurate gaming leaks, adding some weight to the claim.

If this information holds true, the pre-order hiatus—primarily due to ongoing tariff complications—could conclude in less than a week. Nonetheless, there are still reasons for caution. The tariff landscape remains extremely uncertain. At present, a 10% tariff is applied to items from Vietnam, where a significant number of Switch 2 units are believed to be produced. This situation could shift rapidly, particularly in light of recent tensions involving the U.S., Vietnam, and China. Earlier this week, former President Donald Trump accused both nations of attempting to “screw” the United States following a diplomatic discussion.
As with any leak, it’s prudent to approach this news with skepticism. Even with a dependable source, Nintendo may not have finalized its pre-order arrangements, meaning retailers could still lack clarity.
In spite of the ambiguity, Nintendo has asserted that the Switch 2 is still slated for its official release on June 5.
