What Is Connections?

Connections is a daily word game crafted by The New York Times, with puzzle editor Wyna Liu significantly contributing to its development. Accessible on both desktop and mobile devices, the game prompts players to categorize 16 words into four groups of four based on a common link.

The categories may include book titles, software, country names, and more. Although various words might appear to fit together, there is only one accurate combination for each category.

Every correct set eliminates those words from play. However, be cautious—each wrong attempt counts against you, and you have only four mistakes before the game concludes.

To help spot trends, you can rearrange the words on the board. Additionally, each category is color-coded by level of difficulty: yellow (simplest), green, blue, and purple (most challenging). Like Wordle, you can share your results with friends via social media.
