Samsung Unveils the Ultra-Slim Galaxy S25 Edge
Samsung has officially revealed the Galaxy S25 Edge, affirming previous leaks that suggested an exceptionally thin design. Featuring a stylish 6.7-inch QHD+ display, the S25 Edge is a mere 5.8mm thick and weighs only 163g (5.7oz), positioning it among the slimmest and lightest smartphones currently available. In contrast, Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Max is notably bulkier at 8.25mm thick and 227g (7.99oz).
During a hands-on session, Mashable emphasized the phone’s remarkably slim form factor—so much so that it drew comparisons to a leather belt. Although it is thicker than the belt, the analogy underscores just how slender the device truly is.
Though it possesses a fragile look, the Galaxy S25 Edge is designed with resilience in mind. It features rounded edges, a titanium chassis, and Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the back. Samsung asserts that the phone is more resilient than it appears, even without a protective case. Nevertheless, utilizing a case not only provides added security but also allows the phone to sit flat, as its dual rear cameras can make it wobble when placed on a flat surface.
Design undoubtedly stands out as the premier feature of the S25 Edge, but Samsung has not compromised on performance. The device is driven by the same Snapdragon 8 Elite processor found in other Galaxy S25 variants. Camera specifications include a 200MP wide-angle lens, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 12MP front camera. It also boasts an IP68 rating, meaning it can endure exposure to up to 1.5 meters (5 feet) of freshwater for a duration of 30 minutes.
Battery performance is reliable, though not leading the pack. The S25 Edge is equipped with a 3,900mAh battery—smaller than the S25 Ultra’s 5,000mAh—but Samsung claims it should be capable of lasting an entire day depending on usage. It also features fast charging, achieving 55% in approximately 30 minutes.
The phone is outfitted with 12GB of RAM and comes in two storage capacities: 256GB and 512GB. Both configurations are offered in three color options: Titanium Silver, Titanium Icyblue, and Titanium Jetblack.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is set to be available from May 30, with a starting price of $1,099.99. Preorders are currently being accepted.
