The Buccaneers Season 2 Trailer Hints at Heightened Love Triangles and Romance from the Regency Era

After a smoldering first season, The Buccaneers are set to assert their presence in the Regency romance realm — just in time for Bridgerton’s much-anticipated return.

In the freshly unveiled trailer for Season 2 of the Apple TV+ series, the core group of American expatriates — Nan St. George (Kristine Frøseth), Jinny St. George (Imogen Waterhouse), Lizzy Elmsworth (Aubri Ibrag), Mabel Elmsworth (Josie Totah), and Conchita, Lady Brightlingsea (Alisha Boe) — are back, and they’ve evolved from naive newcomers to seasoned players in English high society. Some have ascended to influential roles, while others are keeping a low profile to avoid the fallout from regrettable marriages.

Accompanied by a striking, contemporary rendition of Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!”, the trailer focuses on Nan, who has now become the Duchess of Tintagel after opting to wed the brooding Theo (Guy Remmers). However, despite her prestigious new status, she struggles to disregard her feelings for the charming Guy Thwarte (Matthew Broome) — and it’s evident that he feels the same way.

Romance is blossoming for more than just Nan. Beloved characters Mabel and Honoria (Mia Threapleton) are returning as well, navigating the intricacies of their fervent relationship in a society that isn’t particularly supportive of their love. Good luck, indeed.

The Buccaneers Season 2 debuts June 18 on Apple TV+.
