In January 2025, Roborock took the stage at CES with the introduction of an innovative robot vacuum: the Saros Z70, featuring a robotic arm. If you were tuned into the announcement at that time, you might already have some insight into this advanced cleaning device. If not, you may be intrigued to find that robot vacuums have progressed to include arms that can handle obstacles. This naturally prompts an important question: Is a robot vacuum equipped with a mechanical arm truly worth the financial commitment?
This question gains further complexity when considering its cost. The Roborock Saros Z70 is priced at a substantial $2,599—around $1,000 more than the brand’s other two flagship models introduced this year. Even with its reduced sale price of $1,999, it still ranks among the priciest robot vacuums available.
To determine if the Saros Z70 justifies its reputation (and its cost), I dedicated a month to testing it in my apartment for an in-depth video review. I put the robotic arm to the test, asking it to pick up common items like socks and sandals, and evaluated its cleaning capabilities against those of the Roborock Saros 10 and 10R—two other premium models I frequently use. Here’s what I found out.
