### Saros 10 vs. 10R: Design
Roborock has successfully incorporated a remarkable level of intelligence into these ultra-slim robotic vacuums. Both the Saros 10 and Saros 10R stand just over three inches tall, enabling them to fit beneath low-hanging appliances such as refrigerators and various low-clearance furniture that bulkier robot vacuums I’ve tried can’t manage.
Nonetheless, the Saros 10 and 10R show considerable differences underneath, especially in the mopping pad configuration, which influenced my choice between the two.
**Winner:** Saros 10R
### Saros 10 vs. 10R: Vacuuming Skills
The Roborock Saros 10 and 10R rank among the most potent robotic vacuums in 2025. The Saros 10R achieves 20,000 Pa of suction, while the Saros 10 reaches up to 22,000 Pa. Both numbers are impressive, with only a handful of other robotic vacuums on the market matching 20,000 Pa, guaranteeing an exceptional clean with either model.
In my opinion, the additional 2,000 Pa of suction power of the Saros 10 does not create a notable difference. It performed slightly better with pet hair removal on certain rugs, as shown by a self-emptying Shark stick vacuum that begins each cleaning session with an empty dust bin. After a robot vacuum cleans a rug, I run the Shark over it to check for any cat hair that might have been missed. In this test, the Saros 10 showed a marginally better performance than the Saros 10R.
Other debris on rugs, such as crumbs in the living room or spilled rice on the kitchen runner, was seldom left behind by either vacuum.
Both the Saros 10 and 10R utilize the same divided brush roll system, a great design feature that prevents tangling. Rather than one lengthy brush roll extending across the bottom, a gap between two smaller brush rolls allows pet hair and longer human hairs a place to go before getting tangled. I’ve never had to resort to scissors for removing hair buildup beneath either vacuum.
On hard floors, both the Saros 10 and 10R effectively pick up between 90 and 95 percent of debris, addressing messes in front of litter boxes, loose kibble by food bowls, crumbs from snacks, dirt, and dust bunnies. Roborock’s FlexiArm is also incorporated in both Saros models, extending from underneath each vacuum to more effectively direct hidden edge debris into the cleaning path compared to a traditional fixed side brush.
However, the edge precision of the Saros 10R continually enhances its overall debris collection rate on hard floors. The mopping pad design of the Saros 10R elevates its vacuuming capability. Its hinged rotating side mop extends out to capture dust and fine debris (like salt that spills off the counter) that the suction of the Saros 10 alone fails to collect, particularly near a wall.
On multiple occasions, I deployed the Saros 10R into a room that had just been cleaned by the Saros 10 — the Saros 10R consistently gathered nearly all stray crumbs or bits of kitty litter that the Saros 10 had overlooked at the room’s edges. For fully carpeted spaces, this may not be as advantageous.
**Winner:** On paper? The Saros 10. From my experience? Saros 10 for pet hair, Saros 10R for dry debris.
### Saros 10 vs. 10R: Mopping Skills
The Saros 10R excels in mopping compared to the Saros 10.
The singular large, pressurized mopping pad of the Saros 10 doesn’t offer the same degree of physical agitation as the dual spinning mopping pads of the Saros 10R. In my assessments, the rotating design was less prone to leaving streaks of spills like wine or ranch dressing behind — it emulates the action of hand scrubbing with a sponge rather than the singular wipe that is only effective in paper towel commercials.
Although the vibrating pad of the Saros 10 is not completely stationary, its scrubbing area is still restricted to the circumference of the robot vacuum. This constraint leads the Saros 10 to overlook a significant amount of dust and droplets near wall edges or in corners. The tiny circular pad Roborock added as an addition to the large pad is laughably small — roughly the size of a quarter — and almost ineffective.
On the other hand, the Saros 10R has perfected corner and edge mopping. When it detects a corner or hard edge, one of the rotating mopping pads flexes outward on a hinge to scrub past the round edge of the vacuum. This gives nearly two inches more coverage compared to the quarter-sized spinning pad found on the Saros 10.
**Winner:** Saros 10R
