A user reports that Samsung’s $1,300 flagship smartphone has an adhesive issue.

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra encounters a surprising design flaw: the adhesive securing its camera rings may not consistently maintain its grip. A user on X shared that after three months of usage, a camera ring on his S25 Ultra detached. Although the device features a titanium frame and a glass back, the rings are aesthetic and affixed with adhesive.

This observation does not serve as a condemnation of the S25 Ultra’s robustness. The latest camera rings are thicker compared to those on the S24, and the majority of units appear to be well-built. YouTuber JerryRigEverything pointed this out in a teardown video, mentioning that while a ring can be pulled off with some effort, they are typically stable under regular usage.

Nonetheless, this occurrence is significant. A high-end smartphone crafted from premium materials can still experience unforeseen problems. A camera ring coming loose after minor use is atypical, even if it is a singular incident.

Samsung is unlikely to experience significant fallout from this. The Galaxy S25 Edge, launched last month, is still receiving praise for its stylish design and functionality. At this time, the camera ring detachment seems to be an isolated case. If it starts to happen more frequently, anticipate another article in a few months.
