Robin Hood as a merry trickster pilfering from the rich to support the needy contrasts sharply with the depiction of a bearded Hugh Jackman in the trailer above.

In A24’s The Death of Robin Hood, Jackman portrays an aging iteration of the legendary outlaw, plagued by his brutal past while he lies injured from combat.

Jodie Comer, Bill Skarsgård, Murray Bartlett, and Noah Jupe are also part of this latest project from A Quiet Place: Day One writer/director Michael Sarnoski.

The Death of Robin Hood is “coming soon” to cinemas.
