Advertisements could be introduced to Apple Maps in the following year.

Apple is set to add advertisements to Apple Maps as soon as next year. This update comes from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who had forecasted this trend earlier and reiterated it earlier this year. Gurman notes that establishments such as restaurants will have the opportunity to pay for more prominent visibility in Maps, with Apple leveraging AI to provide relevant results. The fresh report hints at a possible timeline for this transition, indicating it may take place next year. Although ads in mapping services can be introduced in an appealing way, Apple encounters a challenge since Google Maps continues to be a more favored rival. This initiative is a component of Apple’s wider strategy to enhance monetization of iOS, although it remains uncertain which application or service might host ads next.
