Alien: Earth Episode 7: Does Nibs Perish in the Conclusion?

There’s only one episode remaining of *Alien: Earth*, and following the tense conclusion of episode 7, the finale is set to be gripping.

As the fates of numerous characters hang in the balance, Nibs (Lily Newmark) finds herself in a particularly precarious predicament at the end of the episode.

What will become of the group’s most distressed hybrid, and is she alive or deceased? Let’s summarize.

What occurs at the conclusion of *Alien: Earth* episode 7?

A considerable portion of episode 7 takes place outside the Prodigy facility in the jungle, where Wendy (Sydney Chandler), Nibs, and Joe (Alex Lawther) are attempting to flee the island after learning about Tootles (Kit Young) and that Prodigy is monitoring the hybrids.

With assistance from Wendy’s new Xenomorph ally, they battle through soldiers and arrive at the shore where a boat is waiting.

Unfortunately, the getaway is unsuccessful. Joe opens the boat door to discover his former soldier comrades Siberian (Diêm Camille) and Rashidi (Moe Bar-El) brandishing weapons. Outnumbered, Nibs boldly declares to the soldiers, “Mr. Strawberry says *fuck off*,” but one of the soldiers tosses her cherished stuffed bird into the ocean. In retaliation, Nibs tears off the soldier’s jaw, igniting a brawl. Siberian shoots Nibs, who then grabs her, poised to kill, but Joe shoots Nibs with blue electricity, similar to what Morrow (Babou Ceesay) used in episode 2.

Is Nibs deceased?

At first glance, things appear dire for Nibs. She has sustained two gunshot wounds and suffers from electric shock, her body convulsing and eyes partially open on the ground. Wendy’s furious reaction implies that Nibs’ condition is critical.

Yet, her injuries may not be lethal. As a hybrid with a synthetic body, in contrast to Tootles, her head remains intact. The bullet wounds could be trivial, but the effects of the electric weapon are ambiguous.

We’ve observed Morrow utilize this weapon in episode 2, intended to incapacitate rather than kill, as the Xenomorph he stunned swiftly recovered.

Nibs’ body isn’t identical to a Xenomorph’s, but she is a formidable synthetic. It’s probable that she’s unconscious rather than dead. We’ll have to wait for the finale to find out for certain.

*Alien: Earth* is available for streaming on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Hulu and FX.
