Netflix is poised to compete with Shark Week by introducing its new shark-themed reality competition, All the Sharks.
Hosted by Tom “The Blowfish” Hird, the show brings together four teams of shark specialists who will battle to photograph the highest number of shark species. The team that captures the greatest quantity will earn $50,000 for their selected marine charity.
Teams will explore shark habitats in locations such as the Maldives, Galápagos Islands, Bahamas, South Africa, Japan, and Australia. Points are assigned for every shark photographed, with rarer species yielding higher scores. The challenge is amplified by challenging diving conditions and swift currents.
In spite of a personal fear of sharks and the ocean depths, the trailer for All the Sharks reveals dedicated shark advocates looking to shift public views on these vital predators.
The trailer features interactions with a variety of sharks, such as the epaulette shark, great whites, tiger sharks, and hammerheads. While not prepared to dive alongside them, observing from home is captivating.
All the Sharks debuts on July 4 on Netflix.
