Apple is gradually extending the presence of its **Apple Intelligence** smart capabilities to additional markets. In a recent earnings call on Thursday, CEO Tim Cook revealed that the AI will incorporate eight new languages starting in April, as reported by [MacRumors](https://www.macrumors.com/2025/01/31/apple-intelligence-eight-new-languages-april/).
The added languages include **French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese**.
### Extending Apple Intelligence’s Availability
At present, Apple Intelligence supports only English in select regions such as the **United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and South Africa**. Starting in April, the AI will also broaden its English-language support to users in **India and Singapore**.
Although Cook did not specifically confirm this, the launch is anticipated to align with the release of **iOS 18.4**.
This marks a crucial development for Apple Intelligence, which has been progressively introduced since mid-2024. However, in Europe, the uptake of the AI has been constrained due to compliance challenges with the EU’s **Digital Markets Act (DMA)** regulations. Apple has indicated that “many of the core features of Apple Intelligence will start to roll out to iPhone and iPad users in the EU” in April.
### Promoting Adoption Through New Devices
Cook pointed out that the adoption of Apple Intelligence is expected to increase as more users upgrade to the **iPhone 15** and **iPhone 16** models, which currently are the only devices compatible with the AI. He also stressed the usefulness of the features, stating, “Once you start using the features, you can’t imagine not using them anymore. I know I get hundreds of emails a day, and the summarization function is so important.”
### Siri Integration and Upcoming Developments
Along with the language expansion, Cook disclosed that Siri’s integration with Apple Intelligence will be implemented “over the next several months,” thereby boosting the AI’s capabilities.
Apple’s methodical and cautious strategy for launching Apple Intelligence underscores its dedication to providing a seamless and compliant user experience while continuing to expand its global reach.
