Apple Cider Vinegar Teaser: Kaitlyn Dever Takes on the Role of Wellness Con Artist Belle Gibson

In the early 2010s, Australian social media star Belle Gibson gained notoriety by creating a wellness brand founded on a startling lie. She asserted that she had been diagnosed with brain cancer and attributed her recovery to a lifestyle of nutritious eating, physical activity, and holistic treatments. However, it was subsequently disclosed that Belle had never received a diagnosis of brain cancer—or any of the other cancers she later claimed to have fought against.

Now, Belle Gibson’s contentious narrative is being reenacted in Netflix’s newest true crime limited series, *Apple Cider Vinegar*. Featuring Kaitlyn Dever (*Booksmart*, *The Last of Us: Season 2*) in the role of Gibson, the series examines the ascent and descent of the influencer who misled countless individuals.

The initial trailer for *Apple Cider Vinegar* showcases Belle’s rapid ascent to social media prominence, alongside her rivalry with another wellness influencer, Milla Blake, portrayed by Alycia Debnam-Carey (*It’s What’s Inside*). In contrast to Belle, Milla is a legitimate cancer survivor, and the friction between the two intensifies as they vie for the spotlight in the wellness industry. Belle’s cookbook and application become a point of contention for Milla, prompting her to declare over the phone, “I want to destroy her.”

The series promises an intense confrontation between the two influencers, examining themes of deceit, rivalry, and the sinister aspects of social media celebrity.

*Apple Cider Vinegar* is set to debut on Netflix on February 6.
