If you’re uncertain regarding the new **Apple Intelligence** capabilities set to arrive on your **iPhone**, here’s some information: they will be automatically installed with the upcoming **iOS update**.
As indicated in [Apple’s beta developer notes](https://developer.apple.com/documentation/ios-ipados-release-notes/ios-ipados-18_3-release-notes), Apple Intelligence will be enabled by default upon installing **iOS 18.3**, **iPadOS 18.3**, or **macOS 15.3**. These updates are anticipated to be released in **late January**.

“For those new to or updating to iOS 18.3, Apple Intelligence will be activated automatically during the iPhone onboarding process,” the notes clarify. “Users will have access to Apple Intelligence functionalities once they finish device setup.” The same is true for **macOS 15.3**, as per [Apple’s macOS release notes](https://developer.apple.com/documentation/macos-release-notes/macos-15_3-release-notes).
If you prefer not to utilize Apple Intelligence, it can be disabled. Simply navigate to **Settings**, choose **Apple Intelligence and Siri**, and switch the feature off.
