Apple Maps Has Improved in Assisting You Find High-End Dining Options

Apple Maps Now Includes Michelin Guide Restaurant Listings — But Only in the U.S. for the Time Being

Apple Maps has received a significant enhancement for culinary enthusiasts and travelers. The app now features Michelin Guide suggestions and evaluations, enabling users in the U.S. to effortlessly discover top-rated dining and accommodation options directly within the application.

Launched on Wednesday, the fresh features allow users to search for Michelin-starred establishments, along with those that have earned the Green Star for sustainability and the Bib Gourmand for excellent value. Additionally, you can explore Michelin Key hotels. While searching for dining alternatives in Apple Maps, users can utilize a new “Michelin Distinctions” filter. If a restaurant has been acknowledged by the Michelin Guide, its page will showcase the relevant stars or accolades.

Besides Michelin information, Apple has announced that expert opinions from The Infatuation — a renowned restaurant review platform — and Golf Digest will soon be integrated into Maps, with additional expert sources anticipated to follow.

At present, these features are exclusively available in the United States. However, Apple has assured that support for other areas is forthcoming.

In a different announcement, Apple introduced a new “Detailed City Experience” for Monaco, timed perfectly for the Formula 1 Grand Prix occurring on May 25. This immersive update features custom 3D landmarks such as the Casino de Monte-Carlo, Fairmont Monte Carlo, Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, Yacht Club de Monaco, and the F1 Paddock Club.

The Monaco update improves navigation with intricate road markings, land cover, trees, and public transportation routes. A windshield view for drivers enhances the realism. F1 enthusiasts will find the race track highlighted in Maps, complete with 3D representations of grandstands, footbridges, and the finish line.

This Monaco feature also connects to Apple’s upcoming film, F1 The Movie, which is set to release in theaters on June 27.

Whether you’re organizing your next exquisite dining outing or preparing for race day, Apple Maps is evolving into a more robust tool for exploration — at least for those currently in the U.S.
