Apple Wallet’s Car Key functionality is set to grow with the addition of 13 new vehicle brands. This option enables users to unlock their vehicles through the Apple Wallet on their iPhone or Apple Watch. Depending on the car manufacturer, keys can access compatible cars remotely or in close proximity.
Previously, this capability was offered for models from brands such as Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, Kia, Lotus, Hyundai, BYD, Audi, and BMW. Now, more automotive manufacturers are coming onboard, increasing the total number of supported brands to 33. The newly added brands are:
– Acura
– Cadillac
– Chery
– Chevrolet
– GMC
– Hongqi
– Lucid
– Porsche
– Rivian
– Smart
– Tata
– Voyah
– WEY
At this time, there is no estimated timeline for when these brands will roll out the Car Key feature. Apple also shared other enhancements to its vehicle-related products during WWDC 2025, including a revamped design for CarPlay and the launch of CarPlay Ultra.
