Apple’s Extended Strategy for Foldable Devices and Vision Pro Uncovered in Recent Report

Apple’s product range is poised to become more exciting in the years ahead. On Tuesday, analyst Ming Chi-Kuo shared his insights regarding Apple’s upcoming devices in 2026 and later. The report suggests that Apple intends to launch a foldable iPhone in 2026, followed by a foldable iPad in 2028.

Kuo mentions that both products will incorporate ultra-thin cover glass, collaboratively developed by Corning, the manufacturer of Gorilla Glass, and the Chinese firm GIS. This type of glass is pricier than standard glass, especially for the iPad, owing to its larger dimensions, which leads Kuo to expect a “significantly higher” price point for the iPad in comparison to the foldable iPhone. Kuo had previously estimated that the first foldable iPhone could surpass $2,000, while analyst Jimmy Yoon projected its price could be between $1,800 and $2,000.

Kuo also predicted that Apple would launch a more affordable and lighter version of its Vision Pro headset, dubbed the Vision Air, in 2027. “The new device is projected to be over 40 percent lighter and more than 50 percent less expensive,” noted Kuo. Given that the Vision Pro is priced at $3,499 and weighs between 600 and 650 grams, the Vision Air is anticipated to weigh around 400 grams and retail for $1,750.

This should boost the Vision Air’s appeal relative to its powerful yet pricey predecessor. Kuo believes that Apple could ship 1 million Vision Air units in 2027, while Vision Pro shipments are currently under 400,000 units.
