Apple’s Home App Might Incorporate Robot Vacuum Compatibility in iOS 18.3

Apple’s Home app is set to become even more beneficial.

As indicated by the first developer beta for iOS 18.3, Apple is adding support for robot vacuums within its Home app. This enhancement, brought to light by Aaron Perris on X (via *9to5Mac*), was uncovered alongside the release of the initial beta for the new iOS version. For those who may not know, the Home app is Apple’s central hub for overseeing smart home devices, whether they are created by Apple or compatible third-party brands.

Should this feature be implemented with the official launch of iOS 18.3, anticipated early next year, iPhone users will have the capability to control and keep an eye on their robot vacuums directly through the Home app. This functionality includes adjusting power settings, starting cleaning sessions, and even giving commands via Siri. However, Apple has yet to specify which robot vacuum models will be supported. Since Apple does not produce its own robot vacuum, all compatible devices will be sourced from third-party brands.

Nevertheless, this update could streamline the management of your smart home, enabling you to control your robot vacuum along with other devices—all from a single app.
