Apple’s Upcoming iPhone Air and iPhone 18 Could Debut in March 2027

Apple’s forthcoming iPhone Air may be unveiled in March 2027. As per Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the iPhone Air 2 (name yet to be verified) is slated to launch alongside the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e. Unexpectedly, the iPhone 18, which is Apple’s most mainstream model, will also not debut in the fall. This might be a component of Apple’s overarching strategy.

Recently, The Information indicated that the successor to the iPhone Air might face a postponement to 2027 due to disappointing sales, mentioning that the new model will incorporate two rear cameras instead of one. Nonetheless, Gurman proposes that Apple aims to bifurcate its iPhone launch calendar into two significant periods: Spring and fall. He expects this trend to continue “for years to come,” with Apple introducing five to six new models each year. It remains unclear whether this implies Apple will conduct two significant iPhone launch events annually; historically, the company has unveiled its smaller iPhones (SE and e models) early in the year with minimal publicity.

Gurman also provided insights into the impending iPhone Air, emphasizing a transition to a 2-nanometer chip, which should improve battery performance. Curiously, he expresses uncertainty regarding the second camera on the iPhone Air 2, calling the idea “strange.”

The report furthermore revealed some details regarding Apple’s expected “anniversary” iPhone, anticipated to be released in fall 2027. Gurman suggests it will probably include a curved, seamless glass screen, with the front camera hidden beneath the display.
