Apple’s Upcoming Magic Mouse May Include Voice Command Capability

Apple seems to be preparing for an enhanced iteration of its Magic Mouse, which may come with some surprising improvements.

As reported by Bloomberg’s **Mark Gurman**, the technology powerhouse is set to unveil a refreshed Magic Mouse that will feature a revamped charging port. Currently situated on the underside of the device—a location that has faced considerable mockery for its inconvenience—the charging port is anticipated to be moved in the new version. Gurman forecasts that the redesigned Magic Mouse could make its debut in the next 12 to 18 months.

Further fueling the speculation, a **recent report from Korea** by leaker *yeux1122* indicates that the forthcoming Magic Mouse might also incorporate voice command capabilities. The report asserts that the device is expected to launch in 2026, aligning closely with Gurman’s timeline.

Gurman later remarked on X (formerly Twitter), noting that voice control for the Magic Mouse “makes sense in light of AI advancements.” However, he stressed that the main aim of the redesign is to enhance “ergonomics and gestures,” in addition to introducing a relocated USB-C charging port. Gurman also hinted at the potential unveiling of a new keyboard in conjunction with the updated mouse.

> “I’d expect a new keyboard too,” Gurman noted on X.

While these theories are intriguing, it’s advisable to approach them with skepticism. The Korean report might simply be a misinterpretation or incorrect translation of Gurman’s initial observations. Regardless, the speculation prompts an interesting inquiry: what new capabilities could traditional devices like mice and keyboards adopt in this era of AI?

For the moment, we’ll have to remain patient to see what Apple has planned. Nevertheless, one thing is evident—AI and usability are influencing the evolution of even the most conventional tech accessories.
