Aya Cash discusses Giant, the act of boycotting, and the most trivial aspect of her experience on The Boys.

They caution against encountering your heroes, and the new Broadway production starring Aya Cash (You’re the Worst, The Boys) exemplifies this advice.

Crafted by Mark Rosenblatt, Giant features John Lithgow in the role of Roald Dahl. The British writer, renowned for tales such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, and Matilda, is scrutinized in this play as his antisemitic comments from 1983 resurface. When his remarks ignite public backlash, American publisher Jessie Stone (Cash) must handle this “giant” to shield the sales of his impending book, The Witches, from the ensuing scandal. Though she holds his work in high regard, Jessie is surprised by Dahl’s severity and political views. Cash gives a powerful performance alongside Lithgow.

Cash visited the Say More studio to talk about Giant, which made its leap from the West End to Broadway this spring. The play delves into not just Dahl’s narrative but also wider subjects such as the conflict between art and the artist and the phenomenon of cancel culture. In an extensive interview on YouTube with Entertainment Editor Kristy Puchko, Cash conveys her personal challenges with these issues, her inspirations as an actress, her experiences on Giant and The Boys, and the amusing elements of portraying a superhero in the forthcoming prequel series Vought Rising, where she will reprise her role as Stormfront.

Giant is currently showing on Broadway.

The Boys Season 5 is streaming now on Prime Video, with a new episode released every Wednesday.

The release date for Vought Rising is yet to be determined.
