Best Buy Canada Unveils Nintendo Switch 2 Preorder Availability Beginning April 2

Preorders for the Nintendo Switch 2 are anticipated to commence on April 2, aligning with the impending Nintendo Direct livestream, as per a now-removed blog entry from Best Buy Canada.

An archived copy of the March 27 blog noted, “Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 will become available on April 2nd at Best Buy Canada, providing you with the opportunity to secure your console in advance.” The entry featured a link to a live signup page where customers could enroll for preorder notifications. However, it did not reveal any specifics regarding the console’s price, launch date, or the precise time preorder sales would start.

The blog post was briefly visible on the morning of March 27 before being removed, but it was captured by the Wayback Machine.

Nintendo has not yet officially verified any preorder details for the Switch 2. Nonetheless, additional information is anticipated during the upcoming Nintendo Direct, which will be streamed on April 2 at 9 a.m. ET / 6 a.m. PT through Nintendo’s official YouTube channel.

Currently, Best Buy has not disclosed any information about U.S. preorders for the Switch 2 on its American press platform.

Nintendo initially introduced the Switch 2 in January, emphasizing various enhancements including a larger display, a more durable kickstand, and new Joy-Con controllers that magnetically attach and reportedly operate similarly to computer mice. The debut trailer also hinted at a brand-new Mario Kart installment — the first new entry since 2017 (or 2014, aside from the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe reissue).

Curiously, the leak emerged on the same day as an unrelated Nintendo Direct event, during which the company unveiled over a dozen new Switch games, a mobile application, and a novel “Virtual Game Cards” feature that enables users to share games with others.
