Renowned director Steven Soderbergh adds his distinctive touch to the espionage genre with *Black Bag*, an intense thriller that reinterprets the concept of married spies turning on one another, echoing *Mr. & Mrs. Smith*.
The screenplay, penned by David Koepp, a regular collaborator with Soderbergh recognized for his contributions to the supernatural horror *Presence* and the technology-focused thriller *Kimi*, features Cate Blanchett (*Disclaimer*) and Michael Fassbender (*Kneecap*) as Kathryn and George Woodhouse, a couple who work as intelligence agents. Although they have succeeded in keeping their high-stakes careers away from their domestic life, their bond is strained when Kathryn is accused of treachery against England. Consequently, George faces an untenable decision: his allegiance to his nation or his affection for his spouse.
The impressive ensemble cast also comprises Marisa Abela (*Industry*), Regé-Jean Page (*Bridgerton*), Tom Burke (*Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga*), Naomie Harris (*Venom: Let There Be Carnage*), and former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan.
*Black Bag* is scheduled for a theatrical release exclusively on March 14.
