Dyson, recognized for its breakthroughs in cordless stick vacuums and heated hair appliances, is making another foray into the robot vacuum sector with the new Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai. Unveiled on September 4 and featured at the Dyson Unveiled event on YouTube on September 5, this model appears to have great potential. In contrast to its predecessor, the 360 Vis Nav, which lacked self-emptying, obstacle detection, and mopping features, the Spot+Scrub Ai incorporates all these functions and additionally more. It introduces “green LED illumination” to spotlight dust and debris, akin to Dyson’s stick vacuums.
The AI feature enables the vacuum to evaluate its cleaning route in real-time, utilizing AI stain recognition and an AI-enhanced camera to optimize cleaning for various spills. For liquid stains on hard surfaces, it captures before and after images to guarantee complete cleaning. The vacuum employs a wet roller for scrubbing, which self-rinses with fresh water while it spins. Dyson has not revealed the suction power for the Spot+Scrub Ai, but predictions are optimistic based on the performance of the 360 Vis Nav.
The cost is still under wraps, but it is anticipated that Dyson will price it competitively, steering clear of the $1,500 bracket. The 360 Vis Nav launched at $1,299 but later reduced to $499.99. Ideally, Dyson will set the Spot+Scrub Ai’s pricing in line with comparable flagship models like the Roborock Saros 10R or Narwal Freo Z10 Ultra.
