Catch Monday Night Football Without a Fresh Live TV Trial: The $5 Sling TV Day Pass Hack

VIEW MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL FOR $5: Sling TV offers day passes for multiple channels, including ESPN, delivering 24-hour streaming access to MNF exclusively on ESPN. You also have the option to upgrade to a weekend pass for $9.99 or a week-long pass for $14.99.

The ongoing dispute between Disney and YouTube TV is impacting the second week of Monday Night Football. As an Eagles supporter, it was especially annoying as my family sought alternative ways to watch the Eagles vs. Packers game on Nov. 10. I found a workaround that doesn’t involve initiating a trial for another live TV streaming service or heading to a bar: a $4.99 Sling TV day pass for ESPN.

Sling TV provides short-term passes for various channels in its Sling Orange package, featuring AMC, Lifetime, Freeform, ESPN, ESPN 2, and ESPN 3. You can access 24 hours for $4.99, weekend access for $9.99, or a full week for $14.99. Although it may not be budget-friendly for frequent use, it’s a practical choice for YouTube TV users until the Disney-owned networks return. Setting up a Sling TV account is necessary for a day pass, but no ongoing charges will be applied.

Disney is far from happy about this. The company took legal action against Sling TV in August when the short-term pass system was launched, questioning why it should be simple for viewers to catch a single football game. Despite this, temporary ESPN passes are still up for grabs on Sling’s site.

YouTube TV is providing subscribers with $20 as compensation, which is thoughtful, but it doesn’t assist sports enthusiasts trying to catch crucial games on ESPN.

A Sling TV day pass won’t grant access to NFL games on other days, as Thursday Night Football is exclusive to Prime and NFL Sundays are broadcast on NBC and local FOX stations. However, temporary ESPN access would enable viewing of several NBA games throughout the week.
