CES 2025: Lili for Life Unveils Dyslexia-Friendly Display

French technology startup Lili for Life made a significant impact at CES 2025’s Unveiled showcase with its innovative creation aimed at aiding individuals with dyslexia.

Following the success of its flagship offering, the Lili lamp, the Rouen-based firm has now introduced the Lili screen—a 27-inch monitor specially crafted to tackle the distinct reading difficulties encountered by dyslexic users.

As stated by representatives at CES, the Lili screen includes a smart system that automatically activates a dyslexia-friendly mode when linked to a compatible PC. This state-of-the-art monitor stems from research by French physicists Albert Le Floch and Guy Ropars, who found that dyslexic individuals typically have two dominant eyes. This phenomenon results in overlapping “mirror” images in the brain while reading, complicating the process.

The Lili screen addresses this challenge by producing nearly undetectable light flashes that rectify the overlap, leading to a change in visual perception. This modification facilitates smoother, quicker, and less exhausting reading, enhancing text understanding and making the experience more enjoyable, according to the company.

Dyslexia impacts 5-10% of the worldwide population, as reported by the National Institutes of Health, often resulting in issues like diminished self-confidence and cognitive strain, especially for students and working professionals. While the Lili screen does not serve as a cure, Lili for Life aspires to provide a functional tool that enables individuals with dyslexia to surmount these challenges.

Presently, the Lili screen is available for purchase throughout Europe and the UK, with intentions to broaden its availability to the United States in the future.
