Dell’s contemporary Alienware gaming laptops are recognized for their performance and sleek aesthetics, yet they are frequently viewed as bulky and expensive. This perception may soon change. At CES 2026, the U.S. technology company presented an initial look at its forthcoming ultra-slim and entry-level gaming laptops, expected to launch later this year.
Information regarding the two devices remains limited — Dell has yet to reveal their names — but neither model currently exists within the Alienware portfolio. The existing offerings include the 16-inch Aurora 16 and 16X, refined mid-range choices, along with the 16- and 18-inch Area-51s, which represent Dell’s premium range. Prices range from $1,100 to $2,670, with weights between 5.5 and 7.5 pounds, and a minimum thickness of 0.89 inches.
As per Dell’s PC gaming lead, the new ultra-slim Alienware laptop will feature a more understated look compared to other Alienware variants and will come in 14- and 16-inch sizes, as indicated in a blog post by Matt McGowan. It will be roughly 0.67 inches thick, akin to the previous year’s 16-inch Apple MacBook Pro.
The 16-inch variant of the ultra-slim Alienware laptop will be “approximately 50% smaller in volume than our current 16-inch Area-51,” McGowan stated. Its portability comes at the expense of some power, yet it “still offers serious gaming capabilities with Nvidia discrete graphics and new highly efficient CPUs.”
Dell released one image featuring an RGB keyboard and a microSD card slot, but that’s all the technical information available. It appears to target the same market as the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16, which are favored by gamers and creatives prioritizing portability. With a lightweight and subtly stylish design, they are frequently compared to MacBook Pros.
Regrettably, Dell has provided even less information regarding its entry-level Alienware gaming laptop. It has been confirmed to be more budget-friendly than any other model in the Alienware series. According to McGowan’s blog post, it “provides robust gaming performance in a streamlined design at our most attainable price point yet.” The sole product image hints at a similarly slim profile, a white backlit keyboard, and a decent variety of ports. Additional information might surface during the CES briefing with Dell later this week.
