CES 2026: HP’s Latest EliteBoard G1a – A Keyboard Equipped with a Robust Integrated Computer

At CES 2026, HP is unveiling the EliteBoard G1a, a keyboard that contains a modular business Copilot+ PC within. This device is poised for release this spring. The HP EliteBoard G1a Next Gen AI PC boasts an AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processor, along with fans, and dual stereo microphones and speakers.

Keyboard computers have been around since the late 1970s, primarily targeting education or 8-bit gaming platforms like the Apple II, BBC Micro, Commodore 64, and ZX Spectrum. More recently, the Raspberry Pi 400 has been introduced as an economical home computer.

The EliteBoard G1a presents a fresh form factor for contemporary all-in-one (AIO) PCs, which generally contain components within monitors. In contrast to conventional AIOs, the EliteBoard integrates all essential hardware within the keyboard itself. It is portable and minimalist, measuring 0.7 inches in thickness and weighing under 1.5 pounds, facilitating easy transport in a backpack.

Designed for straightforward servicing, the EliteBoard G1a features modular components that can be exchanged in minutes. Users can upgrade the RAM, SSD, speakers, battery, fans, or WiFi module simply by removing the lower cover. The upper keyboard is also replaceable.

HP guarantees that performance remains unaffected. The EliteBoard G1a can be outfitted with an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 PRO chip, providing up to 50 TOPS of AI processing capability. It comes equipped with AMD Radeon 800 Series graphics, as much as 64GB of RAM, and up to 2TB of SSD storage, enabling support for two daisy-chained 4K external displays.

For general users, the EliteBoard G1a begins with a foundational AMD Ryzen AI 5 330 processor and 32GB of eMMC storage.

The fans of the EliteBoard G1a intake air from a vent located on the bottom casing and expel it through a rear slit positioned above the function keys. HP’s thermal management system ensures that warmth is not felt on users’ fingers. It has TUV certification for low noise levels, ensuring silent operation.

The EliteBoard G1a can be customized with or without an internal battery and can include a cable for an external display. Without a battery and with the cable disconnected, it weighs 1.49 pounds. Including both components raises the weight to 1.69 pounds, keeping it lighter than a 13-inch MacBook Air.

Battery-equipped models provide over 3.5 hours of active usage and more than two days on standby.

The keyboard showcases a lattice-free layout, a complete numpad, backlighting, and an optional fingerprint scanner. It is also spill-resistant and complies with the U.S. MIL-STD 810 standard for robustness.

HP has yet to disclose pricing for the EliteBoard G1a, but it is set to be available on HP.com in March. All versions will be offered in Eclipse Gray and come with a complementary pre-paired wireless mouse. Battery versions include an additional canvas case.
