CES 2026: Solver Unveils Tailorable Haptic Buttons for Mobile Phones

CES 2026 has kicked off with the CES Unveiled event, where technology companies showcase their cutting-edge products. One of these is Solver, a compact, rectangular gadget that adds two programmable haptic buttons to smartphones. Solver magnetically attaches to the rear of iPhones or Android devices, enabling users to activate the buttons without needing to wake their phones.

The buttons on Solver are customizable for any function. Users can set them to launch applications like Notes, YouTube, or Spotify, or to carry out a series of actions or Shortcuts. For example, a button press can initiate video recording in critical situations and send it through Messages once finished. During a demonstration, Solver illustrated a sequence where a button press shared a location, dialed 911, recorded audio, and triggered an alarm.

Solver functions without batteries, wires, or Bluetooth, utilizing Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to link with smartphones. It is perfect for users who miss tactile buttons or want to execute actions without unlocking their devices. Solver debuts at CES in a range of color options, retailing at $140.
