CES 2026: TCL’s Latest X11L SQD-Mini LED Television May Compete with Samsung and LG’s Micro RGB Premium Models

TCL’s announcement of their TV at CES 2026 diverges from the RGB trend expected from prominent television brands. Nonetheless, the new flagship TCL X11L SQD-Mini LED TV may emerge as one of the most dazzling and remarkable TVs of the year.

This variant of mini-LED differs from the configurations seen in the top TVs of recent years. Initially revealed in China in September 2025, TCL’s SQD technology signifies Super Quantum Dot. Gizmochina elucidates that SQD employs a single-chip pure white light source rather than the authentic red, green, and blue light sources present in the Micro RGB TVs launched by Samsung and LG during this CES season.

The objective remains unchanged: to attain ultra-high peak brightness, typically achievable solely with QLED and mini-LED panels, alongside immaculate black levels and contrast, usually exclusive to OLED panels—simultaneously.

Mashable previewed the new flagship TCL TV before CES 2026, and it is extraordinarily bright. Moreover, a TCL representative informed Mashable that they believe this TV is capable of directly competing with the new flagship Micro RGB TVs recently unveiled by Samsung and LG. The TCL X11L also boasts a distinctive speaker strip along the bottom bevel, featuring Bang & Olufsen audio.

The TCL X11L SQD-Mini LED TV: The specifications

The X11L accomplishes what TCL refers to as “100 percent BT2020 color” through 20,000 discrete dimming zones (threefold more than the high-end TCL QM9K). Beyond the 10,000 peak nits of brightness, this should enable precise lighting tweaks during dark scenes, which often presents challenges for non-OLED TVs.

The X11L is also outfitted with TCL’s enhanced Halo Control System and an anti-reflective layer to mitigate blooming in dimly lit rooms and glare in well-lit environments. This refined glare suppression, coupled with the “ZeroBorder” bezels and 0.8-inch chassis, positions the X11L closely with the aesthetic of an art TV.
