Academy Award-winning director Errol Morris (*The Thin Blue Line, The Fog of War*) delves into the notorious crimes of Charles Manson in the forthcoming Netflix true crime documentary *CHAOS: The Manson Murders*.
Drawing inspiration from journalist Tom O’Neill’s nonfiction work, co-written with Dan Piepenbring, *CHAOS* reexamines the Manson family’s 1969 killing spree. O’Neill, who initiated his investigation in 1999 for a project, revealed a complex web of conspiracy that stretches back decades. His research probes into CIA mind control initiatives such as MK-Ultra, the administration of LSD, and even the role of Manson prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi. The documentary challenges the prevailing narrative of the Manson murders, questioning if it encompasses the entire truth.
“It was orchestrated and controlled,” O’Neill claims in the trailer. “I understand that what we were told isn’t what truly occurred.” He further states, “Manson turned into precisely what the CIA aimed to fabricate.”

*CHAOS: The Manson Murders* premieres on Netflix on March 7.
