**ChatGPT Officially Debuts on Apple Intelligence, Enhancing AI Integration for iPhone Users**

OpenAI has formally unveiled the launch of ChatGPT on Apple Intelligence, representing the most recent evolution in a series of advancements from the AI leader.

This new feature allows iPhone 16 and iPhone 15 Pro users to utilize ChatGPT via Siri. This capability is included in Apple Intelligence’s Writing Tools and features Camera Control, which permits ChatGPT to evaluate and interpret images taken by the device.

The partnership between Apple and OpenAI was first indicated during last summer’s WWDC, where Apple unveiled its array of AI-driven tools branded under Apple Intelligence. Thanks to this collaboration, iPhone users can utilize ChatGPT for various tasks. Earlier today, Apple generated buzz with the announcement of iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.2, all of which feature ChatGPT integration.

In a livestream demonstration, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, along with engineering manager Dave Cummings and product manager Miqdad Jaffer, illustrated how ChatGPT operates with Apple’s newest software updates. Using an iPhone 16, they showcased how the Camera Control feature enables ChatGPT to interpret images and provide answers based on visual data. Cummings also illustrated how users can submit inquiries to Siri on a Mac, which can then relay the question to ChatGPT. The AI responds with comprehensive answers, including visual explanations when relevant.

Although the ChatGPT integration wasn’t unexpected—considering its presence in Apple’s latest software updates—it serves to validate what many anticipated. This announcement is part of OpenAI’s ongoing 12-day livestream series, which has already revealed a $200-per-month ChatGPT Pro plan and the AI video generator, Sora. OpenAI had hinted that the series would comprise a blend of “new items, large and minor.”

With the fifth day of the livestream series now concluded, there are still seven days of additional announcements to anticipate.
