ChatGPT Now Generates Visuals for Math and Science Classes

If you’re confused by a theoretical math issue or a difficult physics idea, ChatGPT can help. Revealed today, OpenAI’s chatbot is now capable of generating interactive visuals in response to inquiries about math and science topics, including customizable, dynamic graphs, diagrams, and geometric illustrations. Users have the ability to modify variables and manipulate formulas directly in the chat, witnessing real-time updates in the visuals.

At present, visual explanations are offered for 70 “core concepts” in mathematics and science, encompassing particular physics and geometric equations such as the Pythagorean theorem, Charles’ and Ohm’s laws, kinetic and potential energy, among others. These areas are tailored for learners in high school and college, as stated by OpenAI, which aims to broaden the feature with more subjects in the future.

ChatGPT addresses math and science inquiries from 140 million users each week, according to its parent company OpenAI. Last year, the firm launched Study Mode, a toggle-on ChatGPT experience aimed to operate more like an AI tutor instead of a general assistant. With Study Mode turned on, ChatGPT is directed not to give direct answers but to encourage a more Socratic method of learning. However, in tests conducted by Mashable, the chatbot still provided responses, even when not prompted.

Dynamic visuals are not limited to Study Mode, and the company conveyed to Mashable that the experience was developed and assessed using the standard ChatGPT mode. Math and science visuals will be accessible across all ChatGPT experiences and plans and are currently available.
