Chipotle Drone Delivery: Zipotle Unveils Aerial Burritos

Chipotle is launching drone delivery, which means your next burrito could come flying in. The fast-casual restaurant chain revealed the initiation of “Zipotle” for a select group of customers. Zipotle is associated with Zipline, an autonomous drone delivery service, facilitating Chipotle’s deliveries.

At present, Zipotle is offered online in Rowlette, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. The process is simple: Customers place their orders through the Zipline app, a nearby Chipotle prepares the meal, and the drone travels to the location, hovers at around 300 feet, and releases the order using a carrier.

While drone delivery of burritos might appear strange, Chipotle endorses it as a green delivery choice. “Zipotle is an efficient and convenient delivery method that permits guests to savor our real food in areas that are typically challenging to reach, such as backyards and public parks,” stated Curt Garner, president and chief strategy and technology officer at Chipotle. “Zipline’s dedication to establishing an effective, eco-friendly delivery experience resonates with our goal to Cultivate a Better World.”
