Cybertruck Deliveries Allegedly Halted Because of Trim Coming Loose While in Motion

Tesla is currently navigating a challenging period as its stock prices fall, sales decline, and protests arise at its showroom sites. Compounding the company’s woes, a new problem with the Cybertruck has emerged.

As reported by Electrek, Tesla delivery representatives have notified customers that **Cybertruck deliveries are temporarily suspended** due to a **manufacturing flaw**—specifically, the **cantrail trim** is reportedly coming loose from the vehicle. The cantrail trim refers to the part of the truck’s structure situated above the side door windows, extending over the quarter glass and passenger windows.

Customers who are expecting their Cybertruck deliveries have expressed their dissatisfaction on **Tesla forums**, indicating that the company has implemented a **”containment hold”** on shipments. This type of hold is initiated when an automaker detects a defect in a new vehicle and stops deliveries to rectify the problem before it leads to a recall.

This is merely the latest in a string of issues for the Cybertruck. Tesla has previously issued several **recalls** for different defects, including a **jammed accelerator pedal**, a **faulty windshield wiper**, and **rearview display malfunctions**. Notably, a past recall involved a **different trim piece** detaching from the vehicle.

It is uncertain how long this containment hold will persist or if Tesla will be required to recall already-delivered Cybertrucks for what would mark the **eighth occasion**. Nevertheless, with Tesla already facing challenges on several fronts, this recent setback arrives at an inopportune moment.
