Disney+ Set to Launch Vertical Videos on Its Platform Later This Year

Disney+ is preparing to launch vertical videos on its streaming service to boost user interaction, as noted by Deadline. This information was revealed during the Tech and Data Showcase at CES. Disney+ will offer a range of content in vertical format, such as original short-form videos, repurposed social media clips, and scenes from longer titles on the platform, according to Erin Teague, EVP of product management for Disney Entertainment and ESPN, in an interview with Deadline.

“We’re clearly considering incorporating vertical video in ways that align with core user behaviors,” Teague mentioned. “Thus, it won’t be a fragmented or random experience.” These videos aim to provide a unique experience on the platform, serving more than just as previews for longer programs.

Disney previously trialed vertical videos on the ESPN app with the “Verts” tab, which debuted in August 2025.
