Domingo Sketch Comes Back Again for SNL Cold Open

Saturday Night Live kicked off its latest episode with a unique non-political cold open. Sabrina Carpenter assumed the dual roles of host and musical performer. Instead of directing jabs at President Trump or his administration, the show revisited the Domingo sketch.

The original sketch, which aired more than a year ago, showcased a frantic bridesmaid speech that unveiled the bride’s affair with a man named Domingo. This revelation was accompanied by Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso,” with the humor arising from Ariana Grande’s deliberately subpar singing.

The sketch proved to be quite popular, perhaps excessively so, as it has been brought back three times within the last year, including this episode.

This time, the setting changes to a birthday dinner at Olive Garden. The unsuspecting husband (Andrew Dismukes) is taken aback when his wife (Chloe Fineman) and her friends (Carpenter, Sarah Sherman, Ashley Padilla, and Veronika Slowikowska) launch into a medley featuring Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” and Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra.”

As anticipated, both songs revolve around Domingo (Marcello Hernández).
