Donald Trump Interrupts NYC Mayor Debate in SNL Cold Open

Saturday Night Live, a hallmark of New York City, parodied the city’s contentious mayoral election this weekend, which has unexpectedly captured national attention. The program’s star-studded cold open showcased a debate involving Zohran Mamdani (Ramy Youssef), Andrew Cuomo (Miles Teller), and Curtis Sliwa (Shane Gillis).

The sketch emphasized the public’s views of the candidates — depicting Mamdani as charming and optimistic, Cuomo as anxious and unsettling, and Sliwa as a quirky NYC figure.

Gillis excelled with his depiction of Sliwa’s outrageous tales about encounters with dubious characters from the city’s history. That was, until Donald Trump (James Austin Johnson) showed up to interrupt the debate. And wherever you believe Trump’s strange monologue is going, believe me — you don’t.
