DoorDash has rolled out new delivery service choices, featuring an AI-driven robot called Dot. Capable of achieving speeds of up to 20 m.p.h., Dot is already functioning in the Phoenix region. This electric robot, one-tenth the dimensions of a car, is marketed as an environmentally friendly substitute for conventional car deliveries. Dot can travel straight to the entrances of residences, apartments, and workplaces. Stanley Tang, co-founder and leader of DoorDash Labs, emphasized that Dot is not only self-sufficient but also dependable and effective, ideal for local enterprises and consumers. It can transport up to 30 lbs. or six sizable pizza boxes and possesses “eyes” that react to noises. Upon opening, the robots produce a yawning sound. Furthermore, DoorDash introduced its Autonomous Delivery Platform, an AI-enabled system that enhances delivery approaches utilizing Dot, drones, or drivers.
