Dreame is determined to prevent Dyson and Shark from completely monopolizing the hair care market.
During a press conference on August 6, the brand unveiled three new additions to its comprehensive beauty tech lineup: the Dreame Miracle Pro, the Dreame Dazzle, and the Dreame Pocket Ultra. These products are designed to rival the Dyson Supersonic Nural, the Shark FlexStyle, and the Dyson Airwrap, respectively. Release dates remain unspecified, but the Dreame Miracle Pro is currently listed on the brand’s site with a “coming soon” tag. I have reached out to Dreame for pricing and availability details and will update this article when I hear back.
These new products follow the recent launch of the Dreame AirStyle Pro, which closely mirrors the Dyson Airwrap and comes with six styling attachments (seven if you include the different directional curling barrels). Its price is set at $399.99.
As I search for the top Dyson alternatives, I’ve tested (and been impressed by) the Dreame Gleam and Dreame Pocket hair dryers. I haven’t yet had the chance to try these latest products, but here are the specifics on each tool’s contributions to the beauty tech industry.
Dreame Pocket Ultra release details
The Dreame Pocket Ultra retains the design of the standard Pocket, featuring a few additional attachments. The Dreame Pocket, which is a foldable hair dryer, can also operate similarly to the Airwrap. I found the initial Pocket to be an excellent choice for those desiring both the Supersonic and Airwrap experiences. This compact device delivered both functionalities, equipped with a curling barrel and an “unfrizz” nozzle for smoothing. The Pocket Ultra introduces three new attachments: another curling barrel (for the opposite direction), a diffuser, and a styling concentrator. Although these attachments may demand extra storage space, they enhance styling versatility, particularly for textured hair. The Pocket Ultra maintains the Pocket’s design, offering five styling settings and two air speeds.
Dreame Miracle Pro release details
In recent years, smart hair dryers have emerged, such as the Dyson Supersonic Nural and T3’s Aire IQ. The Dreame Miracle Pro merges features from these devices: it has a digital display akin to the T3 Aire IQ and a scalp detection mode similar to the Supersonic Nural, adjusting speed and heat in relation to the scalp’s proximity. It also includes a red light therapy element, reminiscent of the discontinued Zuvi Halo and the current L’Oreal AirLight Pro.
While the infrared light of the Zuvi and L’Oreal dryers aimed to dry hair with reduced heat, Dreame refers to their technology as “red light scalp therapy,” implying it supports hair growth — a point I’ve requested clarification on from Dreame. This dryer is further enhanced with an “essence mode” that dispenses a hair mist while styling. It comes with four attachments — a styling nozzle, smoothing nozzle, unfrizz nozzle, and diffuser — along with a bottle of hair care essence.
Dreame Dazzle release details
Numerous brands attempt to replicate the Dyson Airwrap, but fewer have tried to emulate the Shark FlexStyle. The FlexStyle features a rotating base that allows it to be used vertically or in an L-shape like a conventional dryer. The Dreame Dazzle adopts this design, providing five attachments, including a diffuser, directional curling barrels, a round brush, a styling concentrator, and what seems to be a gentle air attachment — which I have asked Dreame to confirm. According to Dreame’s press release, the Dazzle offers smart nozzle recognition and a digital display, features not found on the Shark FlexStyle.
