Pixar boasts a rich legacy with extraterrestrial beings, ranging from the iconic green, claw-worshipping toys in *Toy Story* to the menacing alien entities in *Lightyear*. Nevertheless, the studio’s forthcoming feature *Elio* is set to unveil the highest number of aliens yet.

### A New Adventure in the Stars

Helmed by directors Madeline Sharafian, Domee Shi, and Adrian Molina, *Elio* tells the story of a young boy named Elio (voiced by Yonas Kibreab), who aspires to be taken away by aliens. His dream becomes a reality when he finds himself in the Communiverse, an intergalactic gathering of various alien species. Due to a case of mistaken identity, Elio is recognized as the official representative for all of humanity.

Throughout his adventure, Elio forms a friendship with an alien named Glordon (voiced by Remy Edgerly), an endearing creature that resembles a hybrid of a slug and a lobster. Glordon is a steadfast friend, even providing Elio with refuge inside his (rather toothy) mouth to evade a lava flow. However, a significant obstacle arises—Glordon’s father, the formidable Lord Grigon (voiced by Brad Garrett), seems intent on annihilating the Communiverse. Now, Elio, Glordon, and their companions must join forces to thwart him.

### A Star-Studded Cast

The movie also stars Academy Award winner Zoe Saldaña as Elio’s Aunt Olga, Jameela Jamil as Ambassador Questa, and Shirley Henderson as the enigmatic character OOOOO.

### Release Date

*Elio* is scheduled to premiere in theaters on June 20.
