Essential YouTube Functionality Issues for Android Users

You may assume that Android and YouTube would work together flawlessly, but that wasn’t true earlier this week. Per 9to5Google, Android users were unable to change video playback speeds on YouTube. Attempts to modify the speed from 1x failed, as the setting wouldn’t be saved, creating the impression that no alterations had taken place. This problem is unexpected, considering that both Android and YouTube are operated by Google. It is rare for Android users to lose access to a key YouTube feature, but that is exactly what happened.

Luckily, by Wednesday morning, the issue had been fixed, as mentioned in a YouTube community update. The update recommends that users still experiencing the problem should close and reopen the app. This action should rectify the issue, enabling users to continue in-depth analysis of movie trailers at 0.25x speed. Interestingly, this time, using a Google app on iOS turned out to be beneficial.
