Thrilling developments for Beatles enthusiasts and internet darlings: a brand new four-part film series centered around the iconic band has officially announced its cast. Directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Sam Mendes, this forthcoming cinematic spectacle will showcase Paul Mescal, Harris Dickinson, Barry Keoghan, and Joseph Quinn as the legendary Fab Four.
Paul Mescal, celebrated for his performances in Normal People and the anticipated Gladiator II, will take on the role of Paul McCartney. Harris Dickinson, recognized for his work in Babygirl and Triangle of Sadness, is slated to portray John Lennon.
Barry Keoghan, who recently shone in Saltburn, will embody Ringo Starr. Additionally, Joseph Quinn, who has just been cast in Marvel’s Fantastic Four, will assumedly depict George Harrison.
Mendes, whose renowned directing credits include Skyfall, Spectre, and Revolutionary Road, unveiled the casting during a presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on March 31, where he was joined by the four actors.
This ambitious venture, titled The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event, aims to narrate the story of each band member through their individual perspectives. “Each one is told from the particular perspective of just one of the guys,” Mendes shared at the event, as reported by the BBC. “They intersect in different ways — sometimes overlapping, sometimes not.”
The films are being brought to life by Mendes, alongside Pippa Harris, Julie Pastor, and Alexandra Derbyshire, produced under Sony Pictures.
The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event is set to premiere in theaters in four installments in April 2028.
